A wide range of services were offered to maintain and enhance patient\u2019s health.<br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-19\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\">  <strong>Shawnee Alliance Social Service Division<\/strong><br><br>Beginning with the development of a care coordination unit, Shawnee Health begins to build out a division of the organization specifically working towards improving access to social services throughout southern Illinois. Programs for older adults are eventually added including the Nursing Home Ombudsman Program and Adult Protective Services.<br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-23\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\">  <strong>Shawnee Dental Center<\/strong><br><br>Construction finishes up on Shawnee Health\u2019s first stand alone dental center, a new 3,200 square foot building in Murphysboro. Dental diagnosis and general treatment services begin for persons of all ages.<br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-25\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\">  <strong>Carterville Health Center<\/strong><br><br>Shawnee Health purchases a running physician clinic and begins operating the Carterville Family Practice Center. This clinic opens up opportunities for a new range of the underserved populations in the area to receive affordable, quality, care. A new medical building was completed in 1988.<br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-27\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\">  <strong>Shawnee Health OB\/GYN<\/strong><br><br>Shawnee Health purchases the facility and assumes practice of a Carbondale OB\/GYN provider to allow women of any class to gain access to quality health care. The name is changed to Shawnee Women\u2019s Health and Family Medicine.<br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-34\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\"> <strong>Southern Illinois Respiratory Disease Program<\/strong><br \/> <br>Shawnee Health develops clinics and recruits specialists to the region to help coal miners with the problems of black lung and related disorders. These clinics recruited specialists from across the country and originated primarily to help coal miners with the problems of black lung and related disorders.<br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-41\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\"><strong>School-Based Health Centers<\/strong><br><br>  Teaming up with Carbondale Community Highschool, along with other local agencies, Shawnee Health announces the opening of two school-based health centers. School-based health centers provide convenient, affordable, high-quality medical, dental and social services to students, faculty, and members of the school district to promote physical and mental health.<br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-53\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\">  <strong>Marion Campus<\/strong><br><br>Family Medicine, behavioral health, and dental services are brought to the Marion campus. This increases the population Shawnee Health Service is able to serve and provides a centralized location for the health needs of our patients. <br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-87\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\">  <strong>Carbondale Campus<\/strong><br><br>Shawnee Health Service reaches completion of Carbondale Campus by adding medical and dental facilities. Current services have expanded to include things like addiction treatment, pediatrics, and pharmaceutical services. <br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-txt id=\"SR7_13_2-34-92\" class=\"sr7-layer\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Century Gothic';\" class=\"CenturyGothicMobile\">  <strong>Same Day Health Care Center<\/strong><br><br>Shawnee Health opens a same day medical treatment clinic. This allows for patients to seek day of medical care for urgent minor illnesses and injuries.  <br \/> <\/sr7-txt>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/sr7-slide>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<sr7-slide id=\"SR7_13_2-141\"
