Counting carbohydrates can help you take charge of your health. Once you learn how to count carbs, you’ll find it easier to fit a wide variety of foods into your meal plan, including combination foods such as those in frozen dinners. By learning what foods contain carbs and learning how to count those carbs, you can manage your blood sugar, be flexible in your choice of foods, and eat more foods that you enjoy. This class teaches the basic concepts of how to plan, prepare, and consume a healthy carbohydrate-controlled eating plan for diabetes or any other condition which may require weight loss and healthier eating.

Facilitated by:  Gail Peterman, L.D., R.D., Certified Diabetes Educator.

This class is held on the third Thursday of each month at Shawnee Health Care, Carterville. To register for this class, call (618) 519-9200.
