Hand Washing

Common Sense for Infection and Cold Prevention

  1. Do not touch the your face, especially around the T ZONE (mucous membranes of the eyes, nose & mouth, including licking fingers to turn pages)
  2. Wash your hands Regularly and correctly:  Wet, Lather, Scrub, Rinse, Dry
  3. Don’t Hesitate to get your Vaccinations
  4. Eat well and remember to get enough sleep.

When to wash your hands:

  • Before, during, and after preparing food
  • Before eating food
  • Before and after caring for someone who is sick
  • Before and after treating a cut or wound
  • After using the toilet
  • After changing diapers or cleaning up a child who has used the toilet
  • After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
  • After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste
  • After handling pet food or pet treats
  • After touching garbage
